Neckrez

Neckrez vs BitLaunch: crypto VPS compared

Two hosts where you pay for a server in crypto and by the hour. What each one offers, where they differ, and who each suits.

In short

Neckrez and BitLaunch have the same core idea: you fund a prepaid balance in crypto, create a server, and are billed by the hour. They differ in what is behind it. BitLaunch runs its own data centres in the Netherlands, Romania and the UK and also resells DigitalOcean, Vultr and Linode. Neckrez resells Vultr, DigitalOcean and Hetzner, and accepts far more coins.

We are one of the two, so read this with that in mind. We only put in facts we can state about ourselves and facts BitLaunch publishes on its own site and help center, we say plainly where BitLaunch is the better fit, and we tell you to check its site before you decide.

Where BitLaunch may suit you better

  • You want two-factor authentication on the account. BitLaunch offers it. We do not have it yet.
  • You want a host that runs its own data centres, as well as resold clouds. Neckrez resells only.
  • You want ready-made SDKs. BitLaunch lists Go, Python and PHP SDKs next to its blcli command-line tool. We have a REST API and our own single-file CLI, but no SDKs.
  • You want DDoS protection included. BitLaunch states it is free. On Neckrez it is a paid add-on on Vultr and not offered elsewhere.
  • You want Linode as a provider. We do not offer it yet.
  • You want Bitcoin to count before it is confirmed. BitLaunch says it accepts some zero-confirmation payments. We credit a top-up after the network confirms it.
  • You want a published uptime figure and status page. We publish neither.

Where Neckrez may suit you better

  • You want to pay in a coin BitLaunch does not take directly. BitLaunch says it supports Bitcoin, Ethereum and Litecoin directly and points other coins to a swap service. We take 300+ through one balance, including Monero and TON, and USDT on several networks.
  • You want Hetzner. BitLaunch's site names DigitalOcean, Vultr and Linode, not Hetzner. On Neckrez it is one of three clouds on the same balance, with Hetzner's prices for a server in Europe.
  • You want more cities. 51 locations, each with its own price on the Deploy page.
  • You want Dedicated CPU or bare metal on the same balance. See Dedicated CPU and bare metal; check what BitLaunch lists for your size.
  • You want a balance that shows its runway. The billing page shows how many days your balance lasts at the current rate, and we email you before it runs out.
  • You want a Russian or German interface.

Prices

Our prices follow what each provider charges us, plus our margin, and differ by provider and city. BitLaunch shows its prices after you sign in. The honest way to compare is to price the exact size you need on both. Our live plan table is below.

How to decide

  • Pick BitLaunch if two-factor authentication, a command-line tool or SDKs, included DDoS protection, Linode or its own data centres matter most.
  • Pick Neckrez if paying in many coins including Monero, Hetzner, more cities or a Russian or German interface matter most.
  • Try either cheaply. Hourly billing on ours means an afternoon on a small server costs a few cents.

How to try Neckrez with crypto

  • 1. Sign up with an email. No KYC, no ID, no phone and no card.
  • 2. Top up the balance in crypto. The minimum top-up is $15.
  • 3. Pick a provider, a city and a plan, and deploy in about a minute.
  • 4. Destroy it when you are done. Billing stops.
