Windows VPS with RDP, paid in crypto
Windows Server with Remote Desktop (RDP) on Vultr, billed by the hour. Pay with Bitcoin, USDT or ETH, no KYC.
In short
You can run Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022 or 2025 on a cloud server and connect to its desktop over Remote Desktop (RDP). Windows runs on Vultr, needs at least 2 GB of RAM, and carries a licence fee that is added to the plan price and shown to you before you pay. Billing is hourly from a crypto balance, with no identity check. The sizes and the total price including the licence are in the table below.
A Windows VPS is the answer when the software you need only exists for Windows and you want it online around the clock.
When a Windows VPS makes sense
- Trading terminals and bots that run only on Windows and must stay connected.
- Accounting and business software with a Windows-only client.
- Scraping and automation tools with a graphical interface.
- A remote desktop you can reach from anywhere, from a laptop, a phone or another country.
What it costs, and why the licence is separate
Windows carries a licence cost that Linux does not. We add it to the plan price, show it on the Deploy page before you confirm and bill it hourly like everything else, so destroying the server stops it too. The table below lists the plans that can run Windows and the total monthly price with the licence included.
The smallest plans cannot run Windows. The system needs real memory to be usable, so the Deploy page asks for at least 2 GB of RAM and refuses smaller plans instead of selling you something that crawls. Rule of thumb: use 4 GB or more for anything beyond a single light application.
Which Windows versions
The catalogue offers Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022 and 2025 in Standard and Datacenter editions. Each also has a Core variant without a desktop. For Remote Desktop with a graphical session choose the full edition, not Core.
Connecting over RDP
The login is Administrator, and the password is shown on the server page when you need it. Connect with any RDP client: Remote Desktop Connection on Windows, Microsoft Remote Desktop on macOS, or Remmina and FreeRDP on Linux. The server has its own dedicated IPv4 address, so the address is yours alone.
- Change the Administrator password after your first login.
- Restrict RDP to the addresses you connect from. Port 3389 is scanned all the time by everyone, so allow only your own addresses in the Windows firewall.
- Keep Windows updated. A server that is online around the clock should take security updates.
Where Windows runs
Windows is available on Vultr only, because it is the provider in our range that sells Windows licences for cloud servers. A Windows deploy therefore always lands on Vultr, and the Deploy page offers the Vultr locations for it. Hetzner and DigitalOcean are Linux-only.
What stays the same as every other server
- Hourly billing from your crypto balance, with no term. Destroy the server and the charge, licence included, stops.
- Backups: on-demand snapshots, kept 7 days, and the instant IP swap are available on Vultr servers.
- The same panel and REST API, and the same hourly accounting on the balance page.
How to start with crypto
- 1. Sign up with an email. No KYC, no ID, no phone and no card.
- 2. Top up the balance in crypto. Bitcoin, USDT, ETH or any of 300+ coins; the minimum top-up is $15.
- 3. Pick a plan with at least 2 GB of RAM and Windows as the system. The licence fee appears in the total before you confirm.
- 4. Connect over RDP as Administrator with the password from the server page.
- 5. Destroy it when you are done. Billing stops.
FAQ
Is the Windows licence included? It is added on top of the plan price, shown on the Deploy page before you confirm, and billed by the hour with the server.
Why can I not deploy Windows on the smallest plans? Windows needs real memory to be usable. The Deploy page requires at least 2 GB of RAM, and 4 GB or more is the comfortable choice.
How do I connect? Use any RDP client with the Administrator login and the password from the server page, to the server's dedicated IPv4.
Which locations can I deploy Windows in? Windows runs on Vultr, so the Vultr locations are offered. Hetzner and DigitalOcean do not offer Windows.
Can I pay for a Windows VPS with crypto? Yes. Bitcoin, USDT, ETH and 300+ other coins; sign-up needs only an email, with no identity check.
Can I use a Linux VPS instead? If your software has a Linux version, yes, and it costs less because there is no licence. See the Ubuntu VPS page.
