Neckrez

Dedicated CPU servers, billed by the hour

Cores that belong to you alone, on Vultr, DigitalOcean and Hetzner, paid in crypto with no identity check.

In short

On a dedicated CPU server the processor cores are reserved for you, so speed does not depend on what other customers are running. Neckrez offers dozens of sizes across three providers, Vultr, DigitalOcean and Hetzner, billed by the hour from a crypto balance with no identity check. The table below samples the live catalogue across its whole price range; the Deploy page lists every size.

You pay more per core than on a shared VPS, and you get the core. That is worth it when your load is steady rather than bursty.

When a shared VPS stops being enough

On a regular VPS the physical cores are shared between customers. For most small workloads that is fine, and it is why a small server costs ten dollars. It stops being fine when the load is steady and the timing matters: a CI pipeline that is fast on Monday and slow on Friday, a game server that stutters at peak hours, a database whose latency spikes you cannot explain from inside the machine.

A dedicated CPU removes that variable. Rule of thumb: if variance costs you something you can measure, pay for dedicated cores. If it does not, a regular VPS is cheaper and just as good.

What is on offer

  • Vultr Optimized Cloud and VX1. Dedicated cores in general-purpose, CPU-optimised, memory-optimised and storage-optimised shapes, on AMD and Intel processors. The widest choice and the most locations.
  • DigitalOcean CPU-Optimized, General Purpose and Memory-Optimized. Dedicated-core droplets in London, New York and San Francisco.
  • Hetzner dedicated vCPU (CCX). AMD EPYC cores in Germany, Finland, the United States and Singapore.

Picking the shape

  • CPU-optimised for compute: builds, transcoding, simulation, batch jobs.
  • General purpose for balanced work: application servers and APIs.
  • Memory-optimised when the working set is large: caches, in-memory databases, analytics.
  • Storage-optimised when the disk is the bottleneck: databases, logs, search indexes on large local NVMe.

Prices differ by provider and city

Prices follow what each provider charges us, and that differs by provider and by location. Hetzner, for example, prices the same size differently from one of its locations to another. The Deploy page shows the price of the exact size, provider and city you select, so you can pick the cheapest location that is close enough to your users.

What stays the same as a VPS

  • Hourly billing from your crypto balance, with no term and no contract. A dedicated CPU server kept for a two-day migration costs two days.
  • Full root and a dedicated IPv4, the same panel and the same REST API as every other server.
  • Backups: on-demand snapshots, kept 7 days, on all three providers.
  • On Vultr you also get the instant IP swap, the browser console and the paid add-ons.

In our own check, a Vultr Optimized Cloud server was up and running in under a minute.

How to start with crypto

  • 1. Sign up with an email. No KYC, no ID, no phone and no card.
  • 2. Top up the balance in crypto. Bitcoin, USDT, ETH or any of 300+ coins; the minimum top-up is $15.
  • 3. Pick the Dedicated CPU line. On the Deploy page choose a provider, a shape, a size and a city. Only sizes the provider offers there are enabled.
  • 4. Connect. Root over SSH with the password you set, a dedicated IPv4, ready in about a minute on Vultr.
  • 5. Destroy it when you are done. Billing stops.

FAQ

What is the difference between a dedicated CPU and a regular VPS? On a regular VPS the physical cores are shared with other customers, so speed can vary with their load. On a dedicated CPU server the cores are reserved for you, so performance is steady. Everything else, from root access to the panel, is the same.

How much does a dedicated CPU server cost? The table above samples the live catalogue across its price range, with the monthly and hourly price of each size. The Deploy page shows every size and the price for the provider and city you choose.

Which providers do you offer dedicated CPU on? Vultr, DigitalOcean and Hetzner. Vultr has the widest choice of sizes and locations.

Do I need a dedicated CPU for a website or a VPN? Almost never. A small VPS handles a website, a bot or a VPN for a fraction of the price. Dedicated cores pay off for steady heavy work such as builds, databases under constant load and game servers.

Why is the same size cheaper in one city than another? Each provider prices locations differently, and our price follows the provider's price. The Deploy page shows the price for the city you picked.

Can I pay with crypto and skip identity checks? Yes. You sign up with an email and pay with Bitcoin, USDT, ETH or any of 300+ coins. There is no card and no ID check.
