Buy a VPS with Bitcoin: Step-by-Step Guide, No KYC

How to buy a VPS with Bitcoin: top up a prepaid balance, deploy in about 60 seconds, and avoid the mistakes that cost money.

To buy a VPS with Bitcoin, sign up with an email, top up a prepaid balance in BTC (from $15), and deploy a server with full root and a dedicated IPv4 in about 60 seconds. No ID, no phone, no card. This guide shows each step, how long a balance lasts, and what to check before you send coins. Our Bitcoin VPS page has the short version.

How paying with Bitcoin works on Neckrez

You do not pay per server. You top up one prepaid balance in crypto, and every server you run is billed hourly from it. Bitcoin is one of 300+ coins accepted through NOWPayments, next to ETH, LTC, XMR, SOL, TON, TRX, DOGE and stablecoins.

The minimum top-up is $15. Some coins and networks need more, and the payment page shows the exact minimum for the coin you choose. The crypto amount shown already includes processing fees, so you send exactly what the page says.

Is a VPS the right server for a Bitcoin payer?

Paying with Bitcoin does not change which server you need. Pick by workload:

  • VPS - shared cloud servers for bots, VPNs, websites and small apps. This is the default choice.
  • Dedicated CPU - cores reserved for you, for databases, CI builds and steady heavy load.
  • Bare metal - a whole physical server, for your own virtualisation such as Proxmox or KVM.

Rule of thumb: start with a VPS, and step up to Dedicated CPU only when you see constant high CPU use. All lines are paid from the same crypto balance.

How to do it on Neckrez

  • Sign up - use an email, or Google or GitHub. No KYC, no ID, no phone, no card.
  • Top up in Bitcoin - choose BTC on the top-up page, start from $15, and send the exact amount shown.
  • Pick plan, location and OS - 51 locations, and Ubuntu, Debian, AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux, CentOS Stream, Fedora or Windows Server.
  • Wait about a minute - the server arrives with root access and a dedicated IPv4.
  • Pay by the hour - billing runs while the server exists, even stopped, and ends when you destroy it.
ssh root@YOUR_SERVER_IP
apt update && apt upgrade -y

When the server is ready, connect and update it first:

adduser deploy
usermod -aG sudo deploy
rsync --archive --chown=deploy:deploy ~/.ssh /home/deploy

How long does a $15 Bitcoin top-up last?

Do the arithmetic before you send. Counting a month as 720 hours, the Quark plan (1 vCPU, 1 GB, $10/month) costs about $0.014 per hour. A $15 balance covers roughly 45 days of one Quark server.

On the Ion plan (1 vCPU, 2 GB, $18/month), $15 covers about 25 days. Two servers drain the balance twice as fast, so top up for the number of servers, not just the plan.

Mistakes to avoid when sending BTC

Send from a wallet you control when you can. If you pay from an exchange, it may keep its own withdrawal fee, so the payment arrives short. Neckrez credits the balance with what actually arrived, so check the amount before you press send and add the fee on top.

One honest caveat: top-ups are final. There are no refunds and no withdrawals, so do not load more than you expect to use. There is also no uptime SLA and no downtime credit.

What happens when the balance runs out

Each server's disk is snapshotted, the server is deleted, and the snapshot is kept for 7 days. Top up and restore it in one click. Bare metal is different: it has no snapshots, and with an empty balance it is deleted together with its data.

To avoid surprises, check your balance weekly and top up before it gets low. Destroy servers you no longer use, because a stopped server is still billed.
