What is my IP address?
See the public IP address your connection is using, whether it is IPv4 or IPv6, and what your browser reports about itself. Handy for whitelisting your address on a server or an exchange API key.
IPv4 and IPv6
IPv4 addresses look like 203.0.113.7 and IPv6 addresses like 2001:db8::7. Many connections have both. This page shows the one your browser used to reach us.
What it is useful for
- Allowing your address in a server firewall, or restricting SSH to it.
- Adding your address to the whitelist of an exchange API key.
- Checking that a VPN or proxy really changes your address.
Is it private?
Every website you visit sees your public address, because it is how the reply finds you. We look it up once per visit to show it to you, and we do not store it for this page.
